Broccoli Dip (with broccoli sprouts)

3 cups

finely chopped broccoli

 

1 bunch

finely chopped green onions

 

2 stalks

finely chopped celery

 

2 tsp

celery seed

 

1/2 cup

broccoli sprouts

 

1/4 tsp

sugar

 

Mayonnaise

 

pinch

crackers

 



I've read a great deal about broccoli sprouts and their cancer-fighting
qualities lately. My family has adopted an old broccoli dip recipe that
makes them a little easier to enjoy. Hopefully the addition of mayonnaise
doesn't affect the efficacy of the sprouts.

3 cups finely chopped broccoli
1 bunch finely chopped green onions
2 stalks finely chopped celery
2 teaspoons celery seed
1/2 cup broccoli sprouts
Mayonnaise
pinch salt and pepper
crackers

Chop all vegetables. Steam broccoli until just al dente - remember that it
cooks *very* quickly when finely chopped. Transfer broccoli to mixing bowl.
Let cool for a minute or two and mix in green onions and celery (you don't
want the onions and celery to cook - just soften ever so slightly). Let
cool to room temperature. Mix in broccoli sprouts. Add mayonnaise until
mixture clings together. Add salt and pepper to taste. Tastes great served
cold on top of crackers.
